Lagos Meet is thrilled to announce the successful conclusion of our 3D Billboard Challenge. This distinctive competition, in collaboration with our outstanding partners Alpha&Jam, Unreal Engine, and Lagos State Council for Arts & Culture, united exceptional 3D designers from across Nigeria. It resonated with the community and inspired the creation of many impressive entries that have gone viral. The campaign also helped raise awareness about Unreal Engine among Lagos Meet's creative communities.
Campaign Highlights:
Partners: Lagos Meet joined forces with Unreal Engine, Alpha & Jam, Lagos State Council for Arts & Culture, and Meta to bring Africa its first 3D Billboard Challenge.
Goal: The challenge was to discover skilled 3D designers in Nigeria; to engage creators who can provide creative services to Alpha&Jam and her partners beyond the campaign.
Activities: The campaign included training sessions, a tour of Lagos' historical landmarks, and collaboration with Naija Graphic Designers; one of the largest graphic design communities in Africa.
Key Details:
Training with Green Rain Studios: Unreal Engine's premier training partner, Green Rain Studios, provided crucial training for both experienced and beginner 3D designers.
Winners: The top three winners were announced at the Lagos Meet conference on December 8th.
Entries: Over 200 3d designers participated in the challenge.
Judging: The entries were judged by creative and technical experts according to the contest criteria.

Campaign Extras:
Training and Resources: Green Rain Studios provided a comprehensive training program covering Unreal Fundamentals, Asset Import Pipeline, and Animation Retargeting. This course is available for free to anyone looking to pick up animation for the first time.
Inspiration Tour to Epe: Contestants explored historical landmarks and cultural sites in Epe to inspire their 3D billboard designs. They met with HRM Olufolarin Ogunsanwo, the Alara of Epeland, and the custodian of the sites on the trail of the tour who shared wise words and spoke of the history behind the sites.
Media Coverage: The entire campaign, from announcement to training sessions and the final event, was widely covered through press events, social media, and live-streamed conferences.
Access to Entries and Resources: A campaign website, resource library, and YouTube playlists were created for easy access to information, training videos, and all submitted entries.
Community Engagement: The campaign fostered collaboration with the 3D community, industry influencers, and graphic design communities, reaching a wide audience across Nigeria.
In Conclusion: The Africa 3D Billboard Challenge not only showcased Nigeria's incredible 3D design talent but also created a platform for collaboration, skill development, and cultural expression. Lagos Meet extends gratitude to all partners, participants, and supporters who contributed to the success of this groundbreaking initiative.
The winning entries including the 10 highest-rated entries will be shown on the Maslow billboard at Murtala Muhammed International Airport all through the month of February 2024.
